  4. I am glad I finally "meet" your mum :). Hi Mummy Atkinson!! You know we "spoke" once or twice when she emailed me about my orders from you? I see she wears tanks too both at work and rest, like you or vice versa. Is she an artist too?

  5. Wow! What a great pic of you and your mommy (commenting on both at the same time)! I wish my mother is that hands on with my work but she is slowly accepting my fate of being an artist.

Ya know, If you never wrote your last name down I would never have guessed you are mixed! Truly stunning!

  6. Thanks Betty! Well, my mom has no choice...it's not like I was going to be a lawyer or doctor, lol!!! That much was clear from the start, when I pissed away my college education (or partied it away ;-)).

My family is a melting pot, for sure. Lots of cousins with Hawaiian, Portugese, Asian, Caucasian blood. But my dad was from Geneva, upstate New York. Very white bread- Irish, Scottish, English....and yet a great, great grandmother from Cuba snuck in there somehow, haha!! SCANDALOUS!!

  7. Susan, yeah, my mommy handles all my finances and does all the business stuff because I'm clueless!! Isn't that terrible!?? She hauls me into the bank and makes me get CDs and IRAs and stuff and I just sit there with my eyes glazing over. I have no idea what they're talking about :-/.

I got my mom to start wearing tank tops. She didn't want to because of some "situation with her arms", but I told her to screw it, we're in Hawaii fer chrissakes! Why not be comfortable? Now she wears them almost every day, like me! I have about 5000 different tanks, which are seperated from my "at home" tanks, which are trashed. I also have piles of boxes comtaining clothing and shoes on the patio which I no longer wear. Stuff from San Francisco...alot of heavy stuff like coats and sweaters, boots, etc. I am loathe to part with them, though.

My mom is not a trained artist, although she's really good. She can draw and make lots of stuff. My parents owned a men's clothing company and they made Hawaiian shirts and other stuff. Remember Magnum P.I. with Tom Selleck? Those were my parent's shirts, like the well-known orchid print one. My dad was a very successful businessman, but it was my mom's idea to start a company of their own.

  9. Jocelyn, yes that shirt! It was in the Smithsonian, but I don't know if it's still there. The company was named Paradise Found, then my parents sold it and it split off into three different lines....or something. Tom Selleck came into my dad's office several times for shirts and he was super nice. My God, that was eons ago.....the 80s!!
