A "wave" of more creatures

This is a bulbous-headed Octopus in a bucket, Squid, Skate, Maori cod, and John Dory. There is a possibility that I might be going to Hong Kong. I've been making some pieces for a long time miniaturist, probably the first person I've ever seen make true Chinese food. She asked if I would be interested in being in a Chinese book about miniaturists, and fly to Hong Kong to promote it. I don't know all the details yet, but a trip to Hong Kong would be GREAT!! I visited when I was very young, so I don't remember much. I guarantee you that if I go, I will be stuffing my face 24/7!!

My buddy Carol Cook and her killer Scallops, among other things...

Here is just one pic of Carol's many outstanding pieces! She makes a huge, eclectic variety of goodies, as you can see when you visit her site. She is preparing for Autumn Miniatura, where I have no doubt that customers snap up her work like no one's business:

Fruit again, but a motherlode

I put all my "leftover" fruit in a huge basket, because they were threatening to take over the planet (or, at the very least, my workspace)....and I still have quite a bit left!! NO MORE fruit!!!! I mean it this time!!!

Yam Heads, Yam Heads, not so rolly polly....

Here are the Yam Heads, snuggled (yet terrified) in their own basket (except for the two guys that fell out). I was going to have one of them chewing on a piece of straw or something, but it didn't quite look right. Then again, neither does a cigarette, but what the hell. Why not ;-)?

Fig heads, Fig heads, rolly polly Fig heads

Fig heads, Fig heads, eat them up, YUM!! Anyone remember that little ditty? Except, it was actually "Fish Heads". Very strange song.

BTW, I was asked to do another how-to for Dollshouse and Miniature Scene (I really am going to stop doing these for awhile), and I chose fish- so that should be coming up soon! If anyone has a difficult time obtaining a copy, just email me. Shhhh.....

Beef Chow Fun and Stuffed Tofu

I'm on a Chinese kick now, as you can see ;-). Duck Noodle, which was one of my daddy's faves, is next. I'm just rolling the freaking noodles as we speak :-/.

Egg Foo Young and Choy Sum

The day before yesterday, mom took me to one of my favorite, old-timey Chinese restaurants for lunch. I had ginger chicken on rice and mom had this orgasmic stuffed duck in gravy. We also shared a platter of Egg Foo Young. This is one of those only-in-Hawaii, local Chinese style joints, the kind that has been around for decades!
