Sardines

My gramps started me liking Sardines,  right from the tin. He usually caught fresh fish and fried it up for us, but one day he laid out an open tin with a side of rice, and I wolfed those suckers down! Just a bit of soy sauce (or shoyu, as well call it), and I was a happy camper ;-).

  1. I really think enchanted dolls will love your work! I am not such a sardine person unless it is drowned in lime and red cut chillies. It's the smell and the after taste. If only we can inject odour into our work.

  3. LOL!!! Honestly Susan, the last time I opened a can of sardines, I had a hard time finishing it :-/. Somehow, it wasn't the same. Those soft, edible bones kind of got to me after awhile. BTW, I am all done feeling "ill". It's back to normal now ;-).

Thanks so much, Emma, Lotti, and Grace! You know I have to make fish at least once a week! I WAS going to make whole anchovies but I switched over to sardines midstream.

  4. Realistic and beautiful (yes, you make the lowly sardine beautiful!). I ate these with sweet pickles by the truck load when I was pregnant and they are good for you! Oh, how I wish you would post tutorial's on your blog for us less gifted wanna-be's (speaking strictly for myself of course!).

  6. Jody, are you kidding?? Look at YOUR work!! I will do a sardine how-to if you want me to! Sardines and pickles, together or seperate? They are good for you- if you're going to gorge on something when you're preggers, at least that's healthy!

    Linda, thank you sweetie :-D!!

  7. Hi Kiva!! Those sardines look phenomenal!!! You've got some serious skills girl. You ought to be working for the Smithsonian or something.

I used to eat sardines as a kid...but, they're not high on my list as an adult...it's that Spam effect...had it as a kid...won't touch as a grownup...
