Smack me! Those are gorgeous. You are sickeningly fabulous. Are they crunchy as well? By the way, if you are looking for other leaves, try banana leaves (they really complement everything).
Karin, I want one of your fabulous creations, by the way. I just wanted to say that again ;-).
Thank you, Betty! I tried extra hard with those...I mean, I really tried to get the details down, as opposed to just brushing them with pastels. I wanted the light speckling and streakiness.
HAHA!! Thank you, Tabitha! Next time smother me with that wet mop, s'il vous plait!
Susan, banana leaves....now there is a thought! Do you mean make them or break off bits of real banana leaf? That would look nice and tropical!
Oh Carol!! Coming from someone who makes the killer apples to end all apples, I consider that a supreme compliment :-D!!
Thank you, Linda!! Ok, I will think of another fruit to make. Anything but pineapple, though!
everytime i see apples now, i feel my blood pressure slightly rising (because i've got a bad experience with red pastels), especially perfect miniature ones like yours!! hahah. :) Kiva, pray tell what brand are your red pastels, i've tried a few and they all fade after baking!! :(
Jocelyn, what kind are you using? I find that sometimes, with reds, if it's too bright, after baking it will come out kind of pinky, so I tend to go with deeper reds. Or I'll mix the brighter red with a deeper red. My chalk stash is a MESS!! Alot of the paper labels on them are rubbed off, but I buy alot of Nupastels and Rembrandt. I actually have alot of different brands, but those are the ones I use the most. Go darker, Jocelyn!!
Don't worry fruit is very good for you.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Can't believe it is not real!
ReplyDelete(takes soggy mop from bucket...) Smack!!
