Lance gave me a challenge: make Venison. So, I Googled some pics and found one of Venison chops on a pile of veg. This is the result. I tried Venison decades ago, as a child, in Maine, and I remember thinking that it was too gamey....kind of like licking someone's armpit :-/.

WOW, WOW, WOW! That looks so GREAT! I can't believe I might even be willing to bring up my plate for a nice helping of Bambi and grilled veg.ReplyDelete
Hehe, Catherine :).ReplyDelete
But really Kiva, where did you eat your venison? Have you tried them stir-fried on hot plate with spring onions? I remember how even when we were poor uni students, we would go to this coffeeshop for our venison fix. It was soooooooooooo good but not as good as what you have made here. My goodness, everything on this plate is edible, I am sure!
Unbelievable! It looks good even though I agree with you about the game-ee-ness! LOLReplyDelete
I sometimes have a hard time with goat cheese because of this too.
Great challenge, Lance! Kiva, this is absolutely mouthwatering. Veggies are perfection, love the eggplant and red onion. And the grill marks and fat...awesome, buddy!!!ReplyDelete
OMG,absolutely great work!!!JeannetteReplyDelete

I am a big admirer of your work, and every time I am more amazed by your talent!
Fabulous and mouth watering ! I'm going to the post office in a few minutes. Have a nice day. RosannaReplyDelete
Thanks everyone!!! And thanks goes to Lancey baby for the challenge ;-). I love challenges!!ReplyDelete
LOL, Susan!! I was a youngin', visiting grandpa and grandma Atkinson. Some hunters on that side of my familia. I know that there is a way to prepare Venison so that it's not as gamey....but after that one taste, it put me off. However, I would absolutely try it again, no question. I've had buffalo, ostrich, rabbit, frog, turtle, and hmm...methinks that's it. But, you know, I am game for anything, no pun intended!!
Alison baby, damn him for making me do this, haha!!! I had to make so many components :-/. But it's good because he's pushing me. I can get into a rut, and fall back into making easy stuff, especially at this time of year :-/. But honestly, when it comes to making meat, I get a real rush!ReplyDelete
Rosanna!! I hope you are feeling better, sweetie!! Please take it easy, and do not overexert, ok??? We want you around!!!
Hey Alison. Sometimes, I just have to crack that whip, hehe. Just kidding. The chops are amazing, no? So proud of my girl!!!ReplyDelete
Kiva, I can not think that this food is a miniature is just too real, I love your work, but each new job is always a surprise ...ReplyDelete
Again I can not believe it's a miniature, takes my breath away...:o)
