Blazingly fast browser found!!

I downloaded Google Chrome a couple months ago but uninstalled it without really giving it a chance (I kind of forgot it was there). Well, I read an article in Time magazine and decided to reinstall it. In a word: WOW!!!!!! All I can say is, move aside IE and Firefox...and probably every other browser in existence. This baby is on FIRE!!!

  1. You are so right Kiva! I've been using Google Chrome for the last month or so & it kicks the crap out of IE! I binned Firefox because for some reason it suddenly wouldn't let me access CDHM..the site suddenly became a "threat"...after all these years..what the hell is that all about? As for IE, I gave up on that one a year or so ago!

  2. Linda, it's GREAT!!! For months, Firefox was giving me grief (super slow, pages would load weird, etc.), so I was forced to switch to IE. But now, with Chrome, I feel like I'm on the Autobahn :-D!! Much respect to Google for building this puppy from the ground up. They done good!!

p.s. Linda, word is, Google is making a smart phone which they say will blow our iphones out of the water :-/. The NERVE!!!!

  3. Yes, Chrome is fast I have been using it for the last year. However there are some websites such as my bank's that won't allow full functionality of features when using Chrome. If you come across that situation open Internet Explorer and try it as web developers always make sure it is functional.

Here is a speedy translator to drop into your browser bar from the Google folks. Just drag the language you speak and drop it on your tool bar.

When you open one of those Japanese website click on the icon and it will auto-detect the language of the web page and translate it for you. You must be on the actual blog site and not on a reader service for it to work.

  4. Chrome is my default browser. So far, I have no problems with all the browsers except for banking. All the later versions have not been updated yet. Windows 7 and Mac OS on 1 laptop. Safari on Mac is really slow. Need time to find out why..sigh!

  5. Karin, I just tried my bank website and it worked!! Man, I feel like I'm driving a Lamborghini...as opposed to a VW Bug (cough, Firefox). Thank you for the translation button- very cool!!

Another cool thing: I got my Roku in the mail today, so I can stream Netflix and Amazon movies and watch it on the t.v.!!

  7. Haha!! Susan, I have the Chuck Anderson theme right now! Ok, so far, the only thing not doable in Chrome is editing my ebay listings (the description part) directly via the web. That is, unless I want to do HTML, which I don't :-/. A small price to pay, though!

Safari on a MAC is slow!?? I don't have a MAC, but is it true that there are no air vents for heat to escape?? I talked to some geek at a computer store who told me that he loves his Mac, except for the lack of air vents. I was astounded. NO air vents??

Geez Paky, you too? Where the hell have I been!?? The first time I installed it, months ago, I opened it and thought...why so bare? And where can I put toolbars?? So I closed it and forgot about it, then just uninstalled. I've been missing out! Now my screen looks HUGE!

  12. Macs have air vents. I have a 5-year-old iMac and the vents are at the bottom. I haven't tried Chrome, but I am very happy with FireFox and Safari (FB works better on Safari though). I think MS stopped updated IE for the mac back in '03 or '04 so I don't know about that one.
