Here are a few crabs I made today (people aksing for seafood). I have tried eating these before while visitng Maryland, and I just can't get into it. SO much work for so little payoff (meat!). Plus, even worse, there is almost nothing to dig out of the main body!! No delicious greenish/brown gunk (my favorite part)!

ReplyDeleteThey look absolutely real!!!!
ReplyDeleteKiva, you'll have to come eat crabs with us in MD sometime....they are worth the trouble if you get Jumbos. Happy New Year! Best to Linda. Sophia
ReplyDeleteThanks guys!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Sophia! I would love to!! I had NO idea that those crabs came in a jumbo size :-O!! I've only had the anorexic variety. Ok, I'm sold ;-). Happy New Year!!!!
A Happy 2010 and an Unforgettable Decade!!!

Great job! They look so real. Do they have a wire armature inside to hold the claws together, or just be very careful not to touch them?

Thank you Vanesa!! and the same to you :-D!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ron!! They don't have wire armatures. Those suckers are glued down, so you can't play with them ;-)! I think the few times that I've used wire, I made trees. It took a bit of getting used to, working with wire!
ReplyDeleteHi Kiva! They look great as all your pieces do. And they taste good too! Haven't had them in years but, they definitely are worth the trouble!! Especially with Old Bay seafood seasoning.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pamela! Oh man, Old Bay Seasoning. You know your stuff, woman! I must admit that I did not flatten the back legs like they should be (so they look like mini paddles):-/.
ReplyDeleteOh girl stop! You still did an excellent job!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that is rare to come by nowadays!
