I love eggs

I had eggs for dinner the other night. Toasted English muffins with braised beef, fried eggs, and topped with Hollandaise sauce. I first had it at a Farmer's Market here in Hawaii, and I liked it so much that I made it at home. It sounds like a strange combo, what with the beef, but it was delicious! Anyway,  I do love eggs, and here are some that I've made. I stuck a few feathers on some of them, too.

  6. Oh Kiva, you even make gorgeous blue eggs!! And the runny yoke from a broke egg! Not to mention the otherwise normal eggs with the occasional feathers. What's that about? Were the eggs just butt-butted by their mummies?

  7. Thank you :-D!!

Cindy, that's funny because on all these cooking shows I watch, they always make the contestants cook an egg. They always say that if you can cook an egg properly, you're halfway there already. Maybe not halfway, but something like that. It's almost like a litmus test, I guess?? That is one thing I can cook, an egg!! I love runny yolk! But I'm otherwise useless in the kitchen :-/.

HAHA!! Susan, maybe it was a difficult delivery ;-)? A breach egg? Or the chickens were molting!

  8. By the way, Kiva forgot to mention that those blue eggs come from Araucana chickens, whose eggs come in various shades of blue. However, the chickens aren't blue! Kiva's mom

  9. it's like learning how to draw, if you can master drawing eggs, gosh...the rest is easy. at least theoretically it's supposed to be that way XD

  10. Just perfect!!! Love the addition of the feathers too - neat idea Kiva {:O) Believe it or nor, I still have to try making a broken egg yet! Still, I can drool over yours . . . the meal you ate sounds interesting too - the 'beefy part' that is - I don't eat it, but never would have put the two together normally - sounds deeelish - if you like beef that is! Hollandaise sauce . . . scrummeeee . . .

    Are you sure? lol!

  12. Cindy, that's right! I remember reading something like that too, about drawing. The egg shape seems like it would be so simple to draw, but it's really not...or something like that. What is it about eggs? I mean, even cooking them is supposedly very tricky. Interesting!

Thanks Carol!! A broken egg would be a cakewalk for you ;-). But you should try that faux eggs benedict- it's killer!! My mom makes her braised beef so it just melts in your mouth. Add the runny egg and....ok, I'm starving now.

HAHA!! Dale!!! You with the driveby puns :-D!!!

Is mom making us all eggs now?

  16. LOL!!!! Dale, I'm with ya! I do like pasta, but....it's not my favorite thing in the world to eat. I would SO take eggs over pasta ;-).
