Hunks of meat

I've been sick the past few days, so I haven't been able to make much stuff, but here's a bloody roast and a leg of lamb. Meat is probably right below fish for some of my favorite things to make. I am posting at 2:50 a.m. Why?? Because I am suddenly wide awake after being in bed pretty much all day yesterday!! AAARGH!!!

  1. Are you sure that you're not shitting us? That last picture CAN'T be made from polymer clay. No way.

Really, how in the earth you can make that texture? Unbelievable amazing work! Wouldn't I want a slice of that with garlic-basilikum-sour cream.

Hope that you get well soon :)

  2. That is truly amazing, I really am struggling to get my head round the fact that it's a miniature. How on earth do you get so much detail?? You are fabulously talented.
Hope you are feeling much better soon.

  4. Okay, I cannot believe these photos are minis. Although I know they must be, rationally, my brain is totally processing the images as images of FOOD!

    Holy crap. I mean, roast.

  8. Your "hunks of meat" really blow my mind Kiva!! The coloring and texture - everything!! There's just no way you made this from clay. Nope, no way!
Sorry to hear you've been sick! Hope you're feeling better now - if not, get back to bed and have mom make the Keevster some chicken noodle soup. :P

  10. Hey Kiddo .. you .. sick? It must be all that sun and healthy living. You need some snow and cold weather!

Incedible mini's, as usual. When I try and explain what I do and I show people pics of what you do ... they don't believe it.

The real problem is that your clay food always looks better than the real food that I cook!! I can see cook book publishers coming to you for examples of what something should look like!

    Get better ... BIG hugs..

And about your work - Arthur C Clarke said "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" - and that's you - a magician!!

  23. I'm speechless! As someone said before, your minis look almost better than real food. The texture and colour are unbelievable. When I see things like this chunk of meat, my standards get blown away. I feel like I am just playing around with clays, and you are the one who's really serious about it! You're such an inspiration.
