Mermaid or octopus??
I don't know which to get next, a mermaid or an octopus! I have ideas in my head but I haven't been able to find pics of exactly what I want. I've seen hints of ideas, but nothing really great. If anyone digs up some cool pictures, please let me know! I kind of like the Bettie Pageish mermaid pic, but I don't want alot of boobage :-/. Here are a few I've found:

I like the mermaid :)
ReplyDeleteOk Lorikins, me too!! Take the ass and tits down a bit (although I know that's a prerequisite for pinups), and it's looking good! I was thinking mermaid next, too ;-).
ReplyDeletelol :)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to decide what tattoo I want next....I'm totally addicted to them :)
Why mermaid, Kiva? Octopus, I'll understand, although I think the best pics are actually your own work. Go through your website and pick the one you love? I like Betty Page but I think an octopus is probably something you are not likely to regret... I could be wrong of course.
ReplyDeleteI like the mermaid in the picture above. It looks beautiful like you ((-:
ReplyDeleteNow that's an idea! If you make a mermaid in your likeness, then I say 100% go with the mermaid :):)!
ReplyDeleteI like octopi, but I'm voting for the mermaid, too! You could have the artist add a seashell bra like you always see on mermaids to help with the boobage problem. I think keeping her curvy Betty Page look makes her more interesting than a typical mermaid. Where are you going to get this one?
ReplyDelete-Grace
I like both. The only thing with the mermaid is, it seems like the tail is coming out of her butt.;-) I would like to see a bit more of the "leg" part. I do like the pink octopus with the anchor too. Hard to decide. BTW, like the last tat that you got too. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOHHH- I'm going against the crowd here and saying octopus! I love that last picture with his tentacles wrapped around the bones!
ReplyDeleteLori, GO GIRL!!!! Let me know what you get. I'm excited!!
ReplyDeleteAww Karin!! If I got one in my likeness, if anything, it would be the octopus. Just slap a brown wig on it, lol!!!!
Susan, I will most likely get both eventually, but I don't know which one to get first! Ok, I'll go through my website. Maybe an octopus on a board with crushed ice? BWAAA!!!! I'm just kidding ;-).
Grace, I hear you regarding the voluptuousness. It would look a bit odd to have an emaciated mermaid :-/. I do like that she is at an angle where her melons aren't on full display. It's more tasteful, dare I say??
Casey, I would also like to see more of the body of the tail, yes!! Adjustments will have to be made! Thank you- I really like my daddy one too!!
Kim, I have to admit, the bones (and the skull!) add a special touch, don't they?? That one is a contender for sure!
Could you do both in one? Have your octopus with a couple of the tentacles curved in such a way as to form a chair ... and the mermaid sitting on them. After all, they both live in the same place.
ReplyDeleteTom, you clever bugger you!! I was kind of thinking of somehow combining the two, and that's a really cool idea! Now I just have to decide where this next one is going to go.
ReplyDeleteHow about a lady top half with octopus bottom half? A merctopus?
ReplyDeleteMerctopus ... I LOVE that!! It would suit Kiva perfectly!
ReplyDeleteKiva, I'm not just another pretty face ya know!!
HAHA!!!! You know Glenda, I think Tom is right- you nailed it!! A merctopus...or an octomaid!! That is HILARIOUS!! Thank you Glenda and Tom! I think that is the winning combo right there.
ReplyDeleteTom, I already know that ;-).You're the whole package, baby!!
Then why won't you marry me???
ReplyDeleteBesides the fact I already have a wonderful wife!!!
HAHA!!!! Well, there's always Utah, Tom ;-).
ReplyDeleteI vote for octopus!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter (the budding artist) in on an under the sea phase and it busy painting octopus and squid.
In fact, I just bought her an octopus necklace on etsy.
I'll have to make sure she doesn't see this blog. lol ;)
Unless you are secretly a pirate or commercial fisherman, you should go with the more glamorous mermaid, but here's a rule to live by for tats as well as real life: chest, not breast ;-)
ReplyDeleteDale, I have an octopus necklace from etsy too!! Love it!! I would love to see your daughters paintings! Do you know what I am pining for? A monster sized octopus ring!! I have a big, chunky glass one with suckers, but I want the whole octopus in sterling silver!!
ReplyDeleteSusan, lol!!! Yup, I am still conflicted! A friend of mine suggested I get an octopus on the back of my neck????
Oh, the neck sounds like it would hurt! (says the squeemish chicken).
ReplyDeleteGreat, now daughter wants an octopus on her back, I had to show her the pictures on your blog. :)
She's on deviant art as graciestar, I don't know what she's got up on there now. I want to make her an etsy shop. :)
I bet you could find someone to make you that ring on etsy! ;)
From what I remember of you (1990) I think the mermaid would be better a free spirt that noone tames
